Grant Overview
Let Grow Wealth Foundation serves as the agency overseeing adult education and literacy efforts in Washington, DC. The foundation will award both federal and local funds competitively to qualified providers who demonstrate effective adult education programming.
Funding Details
- Multiyear grants will be awarded to up to ten eligible providers annually.
- These providers will collectively serve over 1,000 adult residents in the District each year.
- Funding per recipient will support 100+ learners, with amounts ranging from $500,000 to $680,000 annually ($5,000 to $6,800 per learner).
Grant Period
Funding will cover services provided between July 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026.
Eligibility
Eligible providers include, but are not limited to:
- Local education agencies
- Community-based organizations
- Faith-based groups
- Volunteer literacy organizations
- Institutions of higher education
- Libraries
- Public housing authorities
- Nonprofits capable of adult education and literacy services
- Consortia and partnerships between employers and educational entities
Application Scoring Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on:
- Project Information (mission, goals, statement of need)
- Program Design
- Instructional elements and student assessment
- Fiscal management
Grant Focus Areas
Funded programs will offer Integrated Education and Training (IE&T) services, including:
- Adult education and literacy
- Workforce preparation and training
- Digital literacy and skills development
- Supportive and transition services for adults with basic skills deficits, limited English proficiency, or employment barriers
Grant awards are contingent upon Let Grow Wealth Foundation receiving funds from the U.S. Department of Education, District of Washington City Council, and U.S. Department of Commerce.

Program Requirements
Grantees must:
Submit letters of support for partnerships involved
Address risk and protective factors per the Utah SHARP survey
Implement strategies recommended by CADCA
Use evidence-based or promising practices as identified by the CDC
Avoid proposing already funded activities
Provide coalition meeting minutes if applying as a coalition
